With this manual in PDF format you will be able to learn the basics about how Filezilla works.
Home of Filezilla
Click on Start, All Programs, Filezilla FTP Client and there we select the Filezilla shortcut:
The program starts:
Setting up your account
Before starting to upload files we must enter a series of data to leave the account preconfigured. To do this we go to File, Site Manager.
And this window will appear:
In it we select the button that says “New Site” and we give it the name that we want to identify our account:
Next we indicate the host name, which is ftp.yourdomain.com (replacing yourdomain.com with the real one) and the port 21.
Other configurations to consider:
Encryption: Use Flat FTP
Access Mode: Normal
Once we write the data, click on “Accept” to save the changes. We already have our website configured!
Connecting to your account
Now we are going to connect your computer with the website. To do this, click File, Site Manager. On the screen that appears, select the account you just created and press the connect button.
A window will appear asking you for your password; Write your password in that window and do not forget to write it respecting capital letters if any. Remember that the FTP access key is normally the same as that used to access your cPanel.
If all the data you have entered is correct, this message will appear :
And we can see the content of our computer (on the left) as well as the folder of the web server on which our site is located (on the right):
If, on the other hand, there is an error, it will notify us that the communication has not been completed satisfactorily, so you will have to repeat enter the data:
Upload your files to your web space
Once we have managed to establish the connection we only have to upload the files from the computer to your Web folder.
We select the local folder where your Website is located.
We select the file (or files or complete folders) that we want, press the right mouse button and select “Upload” .
Finally we verify that the remote site (your Web space on the Internet) contains the files we have uploaded:
And… Congratulations!
We now have our updated website!
