What does it mean to have the IP listed in UCEPROTECT?

UCEPROTECT

If you are monitoring the reputation of your server's IP address, it is possible that at any time you will detect that it appears on the "UCEPROTECT" blacklist.

This blacklist is characterized by erroneously blocking large network blocks that have never sent SPAM and not only does it not provide details of the event that caused it, but it also does not provide no way to unlock unless you pay for it or wait a certain amount of time. Your goal is to list as many IP addresses as possible and then charge for unblocking them.

This blacklist has 3 blocking levels:

  • Level1 (unique IP)
If your IP address appears in this list, it means that it has been blocked at some point for sending spam in the last 7 days. In this case, we suggest that you check the email activity of your account or service, since it is very possible that you have sent SPAM. If you are hosted on a shared IP server, you can contact us so that we can thoroughly investigate the origin of the spam and act accordingly.

  • Level2
Several IP addresses from the same network to which your IP belongs have been reported in the last 7 days. This list is not used to block mail, because it is not precise with a particular IP address and therefore, you should not worry about appearing on this blacklist.

  • Level3
Multiple IP addresses from the same ISP have been reported in the last 7 days. This list is also not used to block mail, because it is not precise with a particular IP address and therefore, you should not worry about appearing on this blacklist.

Most email providers do not use this blacklist because of the above. And if you did, you should only use it for the first level (Level1), which is the most specific for filtering emails and complies with the same behavior as other Internet blacklists.

Atlantica Digital actively monitors RBLs that could affect mail delivery in its managed services. When one of our IP addresses appears on a list that meets any of these criteria, we take immediate steps to remove that address from the RBL as quickly as possible. However, due to the aforementioned practices, we cannot remove our IP addresses from this blacklist at levels 2 and 3.
