Many times we need to generate a backup of our site, either for security before making any changes to it or to have a saved copy.
In AtlanticaDigital the client can generate a complete backup copy of their site whenever they like, this type of copy includes emails, databases, FTP files and all the files/directories of the site. The best thing is that you can do it very simply with the backup tool from cPanel.
In order to generate the backup we only have to access cPanel and follow these simple steps:
First we go to the Files section or Archivos if it is in Spanish, in this section we will see the option Backup / Backup Copies .
Once there we will see several options, but the one that interests us in this case is Download a Full Website Backup or Download a backup copy of the complete website
Then we must indicate if we want a backup of the Home Directory, the remote FTP Server or Backup. To create a complete backup we are going to select the Home Directory / Home Directory option, we are also going to indicate a mailbox to which it will notify us when the copy has been generated. security.
It is convenient to indicate a box because sometimes the backup copies can take time to be generated depending on the total weight of the site and so we are not constantly checking if it is finished.
By clicking on Generate Backup / Generate Backup the confirmation screen will appear indicating that the backup is already in progress.
Here we just have to go to the previous page, Go Back / Return and wait for our confirmation email.
Once the backup is complete, the link to download it to our computer will appear, under the title Backups Available for Download or Backups available for download.
You now have a complete backup of your site.
From this copy you can ask us to restore your website in case of any inconvenience, leaving everything the same as the moment you generated the backup. Keep in mind that when you restore a backup of this type you will lose the most recent database records (those you generated after the backup was generated) and even the emails received after the backup was generated.
