Hosting Plans - Select the most suitable PHP version for your website

By default, all our shared and reseller servers run the latest stable version of PHP, thus providing maximum security and stability on our servers.
However, sometimes it is necessary (or you want to test) a newer version of PHP (beta ) or  you need to use an older version of PHP, because the script (joomla, wordpress, etc.) that we have installed in our account has become obsolete due to new versions that have been released and we have not wanted to update.

Regarding the security of the server and its stability, php is always updated and in most cases In most cases this does not cause problems.
Eventually
php updates to the most recent versions cause scripts with obsolete code to stop working or run with errors and force the user to update their scripts and/or reprogram your code to update it, adapting it to the new version of php.

So to solve this problem we have installed a tool called " on the shared servers PHP Selector", part of the CloudLinux operating system, which allows users to select the PHP version they would like to run on their hosting account from within their cPanel interface.

So how to change the PHP version?

Simple! Just log into your cPanel and follow the steps below:

1. In the "Software / Services" tab, click the "Select PHP Version" icon.
php selector

2. From the drop-down menu, select the version of PHP you want to run in your account and click "Set as current".
If you want to revert to the default PHP version that the server is running you can select "native" from the drop-down list.

 Module selection

3. After Upon selecting the PHP version, you will see a list of the different PHP modules that can be run. Once selected click on the "Save" button.

That's all! After clicking the "Save" button your account will run the chosen version of PHP, instead of the server's default.
